4th of July'11

Well we started off the weekend going to the Rodeo! Our work sells discounted tickets. Of course i was dreading the HEAT as the sun is directly in our faces until it goes down. Well we came prepared this year with hats and fan misters! woo hoo! Then they were actually handing out misters too that kept the kids entertained. DJ wasn't much interested until the sun went down..probably because it was hard to see. But he loved it all again this year and new this year they had motocross at the end of the show which was AMAZING the stunts, jumps, flips these guys did in mid air! Then they topped it off with Fireworks! We ended up going with friends Christy/Brandon and Josh/Jenny/Owen/Grady too! The kids looked soo cute in their plaid shirts and cowboy hats!

The next night we went to our first River Cats Baseball game with DJ. We won free tickets in a raffle from work and actually had pretty great seats. But once again it was a HOT night...we were actually in the shade but it was very muggy! Haa..can u tell i'm prego and complaining of the heat already?! Atleast i had my fan/mister and it did the trick. DJ was into the game here and there but it was fun experience for him...now we just need a DODGERS game. Then they had fireworks AGAIN which was a blast to see and DJ just stares in amazement!

The next few days we spent with Damon's brother Rick, Kim and the kidos Taylor and Kendall :) They just bought a gorgeous house with a HUGE backyard with a FABULOUS Pool! Just in time to continue practicing DJ's swimming and stay cool in the HEAT. They actually have Kendall going around in the pool in a life jacket so we did the same for DJ. Initially he was a little apprehensive but once he figured out how to balance it, he was all over the pool by himself and jumping in constantly. Then we practiced without the life jacket too and he did great swimming back and forth to Damon and I. The cousins of course had so much fun playing together and hanging out.
