I was going to be induced on Monday October 17 but the little guy apparently couldn't wait! I started having contractions Saturday evening and they continued into the late evening and got to 5-3min apart by 1am. With DJ i had contractions the evening before but they subsided and then i woke up to my water breaking. My water didn't break at home yet the contractions seemed 10x worse! I couldn't wait to get to the hospital. So i took a quick shower and we headed to the hospital around 1:30am! I was 6cm dilated and was begging for my epidural which i didn't get for about 2hrs after arriving :( Once i did get it i slept for several hours and Damon and my mom commented constantly on how big my contractions were as they watched them on the monitor and the nurses too as some apparently didn't even go down but continued...soo glad i didn't have to feel them! Later the doc came in to check me again and was going to break my water but when she checked me my water broke on it's own....i was 8cm dilated and she wanted me to see if i could start pushing. I did and 30min later he was out! But not without drama that i later found out....he was was exposed to the meconium, the tube was tied twice around his neck and apparently despite my "excellent pushing" (per the nurse) the doc ended up having to yank him out of me as they were afraid he was going to get stuck. In the process of doing this his clavicle was broken. Given all of this i did get a quick view of him and then he was pulled to the side to work with the respiratory doctor and nurses. I waited which seemed like FOREVER for the first cry and once i heard it damon and i were in tears! I was soo relieved but then sad to hear about what had happened in the process. Thankfully his clavicle is fully healed and he has no nerve damage..he was actually moving it around that same day very actively. whew! We stayed in the hospital for 2 nights given his condition and mine delivering a BIG baby! They have suggested if we do have another baby that i have a C-section which i would definitely do now with out thinking as it is not worth having any permanent damage done to the baby trying to get him out naturally! We are very lucky Miles is ok!

We are all doing very well! DJ seems to be adjusting very well thankfully! It's definitely an adjustment juggling both the boys but we are getting in a routine! Damon has been taking DJ and I take Miles for now and of course we are getting LOTS of help from Me-Ma and Pop-pop next door! Miles sleeps a lot and only gets up once in the night! Can't believe he's already 2wks old!
