Kubik Family: Caribbean Cruise

Well it came and went....our 7 night cruise to the Southern Caribbean was FABULOUS!

Our First stop was to San Juan, Puerto Rico where we sailed out of. We stayed one night there at the Hilton in a Suite. Then were able to enjoy the pool and view for a few hours before we had to board the ship! We went with our good friends Laura and Kyle that we have cruised with before...but also made some new cool friends on the cruise from Idaho that we hung out with all week and had dinner together with all week!

Living Room/Kitchen...

St Thomas was our first Port. We booked a Sailing/Snorkeling/Champagne excursion that day that took us to St John's and a beautiful beach. It was gorgeous sailing and snorkeling in these waters. It actually rained briefly while we were snorkeling and then stopped when we were done!

St. Croix was the second Port. We had actually planned to sleep in this day and a good day for that as it ended up raining most of the day. We had thought the guys golf was the next day but was actually this day and worked out they missed it since they would have cancelled anyways due to the rain. We did end up getting off the boat just to check out the island as far as we wanted to walk. Honestly i was not that impressed with any of the Islands (except Barbados...see later pics)...there is a lot of poverty and the islands definitely look better from afar. I'm sure there are diamonds in the rough but majority was not as "tropical" as i had envisioned. We didn't do excursions on all the ports, maybe we would have seen prettier sites or not.

St Kitts was the third port. We didn't plan a formal excursion here and ended up getting a tour around the island with our friends.

Dominica Roseauwas our 4th Port....unfortunately the pics from this trip are on our friends camera..i have yet to get..i will post later! Here we booked a Zip Lining trip which ended up being a little more than "I" had expected..more of like obstacle courses up on the cables between trees and then a "few" zip line rides..it was still fun but a bit more of a workout vs a fun ride..hee!

Barbados was the 5th port. I'm sooo glad this was the last stop and that we made our way to a beach. I was beginning to think the Caribbean wasn't sooo luxurious and tropical as i had imagined but Barbados was a lot more developed and i found my heaven :) I could definitely see us coming back here to just live on the beach every day!

These pics doesn't really do it justice. The sand was white and soooo soft! The water was blue and clear! I could sit and listen to the waves all day!

Formal nights are a part of the cruising experience! Here are a few shots of our own. We didn't like any of the Cruise Formal pics taken...we did get a group shot of one of our days getting off the boat..i'll have to scan it and post soon!

I can't believe these were all the pics we took of our friends for the week...but this was our dinner gang....Dean is our new friend from Idaho and then Damon and Kyle!

And the gals...Laura, Sara and Teresa (Deans wife). Teresa got me hooked on Pina Colada's with Midori...yummm!

This was our FAVORITE Bartender, Sam! He is carrying our nightly desert shots! We had another favorite bartender named Pitra...i guess i didn't get her pic :( But they took great care of us and really were a lot of fun!
