DJ's 2yr checkup

DJ had his 2yr checkup... He weighed in at a whopping 34.4lbs which we were surprised since he was just ~30lbs a few weeks ago when he was sick and didn't each much for a week! And then he is 36.25in tall...both being in the 95th percentile :)

He got his Hepatitis A and Chicken Pox Vaccine (that he apparently should have had at 1yr and they noticed he hadn't had yet..ugh). He did so well during this visit...going up to the standing scale to get weighted, standing up to the height measurement on the wall. Then did great w/ the doctor doing all his checkouts of heartbeat/ears/nose/eyes/mouth..he usually freaks cause we have to hold him still. Then he didn't even cry when he got his two shots!!!

He kept telling me his leg "hurt" and pointing to the bandaids but never cried..woo hoo! Telling me something "hurts' is his new thing, which has been nice at times, but not the other morning when he kept telling me his "shirt" hurt him..meaning the tag in the back and then the seam on the front where his half button collar is.

He has been telling me his ear hurts though. He went in for his 2nd 6mo check up w/ the ear doc for his tubes a few weeks ago and one of them is on it's way out and the other is fully in tact...when i went in this week to his pediatrician he said the tube is out of the canal but not completely out of his ear yet..so of course there is fluid already starting to build up which might lead to an ear infection..which would mean he might have to get the tube put back in :( I really don't want to go through putting him under and watching him come out of it...it was not an enjoyable cry to hear :(

ps...we went out to Islands Burgers tonight (for kids eat free night) and DJ had his first official burger. I usually bring his food to all restaurants but thought i'd give it a try tonight..of course i ordered it plain and he didn't like it..so i tried some ketchup for him to dip it in and SCORE he downed the entire burger in no time..who would have thought. I guess kids do like their "dips". I know i do so why wouldn't he :) Then he sat there dipping his carrot sticks in the rest of the ketchup and just licking it off! It was hilarious..wish i would have gotten a pic :) We were actually waiting for him to finish eating before we could leave cause he kept telling me he wasn't done, yet we were! (Usually i have a bag of distractions to keep him entertained until the adults are ready to leave) It was cute too he called it syrup since that is the only "dipping sauce" i've given him yet with his pancakes!
