Pre-Christmas Goodies

This has been a really fun Christmas year. DJ is realizing more what it is and getting excited. When we first asked him what he wanted for Christmas he said a candy cane and a green dump truck...the SAME thing he asked for last year..ha! Damon took him to target and then he got some more ideas and now wants a Cars watch, Cars pillow pet and Cars bike helmet :) DJ kept asking when Christmas was and if "today" was Christmas, so I found an Advent Calendar that has a book for each day counting down to Christmas that tells the Christmas story from bible verses. He is soo excited to read a new book each night for bed and is asking more questions about who is God, who are the Wise Men, Angels etc. and definitely knows it is baby Jesus' birthday! Soo fun!

We went to get our Christmas tree at Lowes :) DJ had to have the tallest tree...i thought this would be fun for him but he wanted the first tree we found and said he was ready to leave..haa...we talked him into looking at a few more trees and settled on this one!

Then he was REALLY excited to help me decorate! Of course all his ornaments were on the bottom and the cats keep hitting them off..but it is really cute! He loves to turn the tree on/off each day!

We had a busy Saturday that started with visiting Santa at Intel. Every year they have Santa and we go visit..it's nice since it is free and they have lots of activities while we wait for our turn! :) Here DJ is writing a letter to Santa and asked for his "cars".

And then DJ and Pop-pop made some windmills!

After Santa we ran over to Grandma's for her Christmas Dinner celebration.

They had a great dinner with Ribeye, potatoes and green bean casserole.

The next weekend Me-ma had her annual cookie baking with the grandkids! Hailey and DJ had a blast decorating. Hailey was a trooper and was the last gal standing decorating and making sure everything was just right! They were yummy cookies!

They made gingerbread houses, "reindeer's" (peanut butter cookie w/ chocolate chip eyes and pretzel antlers) and then sugar cookies.

Later that week we went to Relish to visit Uncle Ryan and it happened to be the night Santa was coming by! It was nice since we missed the Santa visit this year through our neighborhood. Here DJ was helping Me-ma feed Miles :) And then helped her burp Miles too! :) He loooves to help!

Here is Miss Ellie...DJ's teacher that we looove! Another night we decided to go look at xmas lights! Miles was all dressed to stay warm :) he couldn't even move in this thing..lol

We drove around our neighborhood and then went to the famous court in our area that has every house decorated to a T...there is line for miles to get in here and crowds walking it. We've gone every year but DJ really got into this year.

This is another house that has lights of ALL the colors turning on/off/moving to several orchestra songs..it is amazing!

I can't believe Christmas is just 4 days away! For the first time i'm actually ready and relaxed...another benefit to being off work with lots of time to get things done early without the stress! :) We can't wait to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!
