Kubik Family: Random March'12 Pics

Ahhh i haven't updated in awhile. There isn't as much time anymore these days with work and kidos and life! We sure have a busy one these days...but it's lots of fun..just finding our new groove....atleast damon is home now to help balance it out and only have one of us under the "work pressure" :) Thankfully my new job isn't too bad yet...i'm still getting my feet wet so it's been nice to gradually get back into it. It is nice to be back and see all my work friends and learn something new and be challenged!

Sooo what's been going on....here are some random things this past month. I actually LOST my small camera just before we went to Chico a week ago, but luckily damon had just downloaded the card so all was saved except the pictures at Taylors 9th birthday pool party! I'm soo bummed to have lost the cousin pics but atleast i have the rest....now i'm hoping the camera will show up else it will be time to go replace it as i can't live without my small camera that i always have in the diaper bag or my purse :)

My cousin Emily and her partner Tia came for a visit from Missouri and stayed with my dad in Monterey and they did all the tourist spots! They came up to visit us for an evening so we took them to Relish so they could see Ryan. We had such a great time catching up and letting them get a look into our CA life :) They loved the boys and were soooooo good with both of them!

I just had to grab this pic....this is the FIRST time ever that DJ has sat and colored the entire coloring activity and did the games on a restaurant kid page...it was so cute watching him so into it and coloring in the lines and coloring it all instead of just a small part and being bored quickly. We didn't even have to pull out the LeapPad :) Tia was so cute playing the games with him too!

So i had taken DJ to the dentist for his 6mo checkup and she mentioned about him brushing his own teeth and using fluoride toothpaste....i had told her we were brushing and still using kid non fluoride toothpaste but giving him fluoride chews...i told her i was surprised he would know not to swallow..which she then said her 3yr old was swishing mouth wash..haa..sooo we gave it a shot as soon as his fluoride chews were gone. Well he was sooo excited to use the little toothpaste's they give you at the dentist...i didn't even think twice about it...so we put it on the toothbrush and started brushing...his face went WHITE and struck with FEAR and SURPRISE...LOL...he didn't like "mint"...duhhh...i don't think most kids do...lol. I don't know why i didn't realize it sooner...he just kept almost crying and saying it was hot....poor kid! So i went out the next day and got the berry flavor fluoride toothpaste and it was a much better experience :) He has done awesome not swallowing it....all we had to do was ask. Now letting him do the brushing is another thing...haven't gotten there as he's had great checkups and i want to keep it that way...but we probably should let him brush and we can do it too after :)

DJ wanted to draw a picture after he finished practicing his numbers on his white board...i forget who is who now....i think that is Daddy the biggest in the middle...then mommy, miles, ocean and max :) I wanted to take a picture....so then every other drawing he did he would tell me to take a pic of it....haaa

This was one of his homework pages...he did this before the relish coloring...i was shocked when i looked down and he had colored in all the white of the bear and mostly stayed in the lines....soo cute when they reach those little milestones :) he's growing up too fast!

Just before i went back to work i joined my mom and stepdad up in Tahoe where they were staying the entire week...i was hoping to go for their last two nights but the weather got really nasty so i only got to go the last night. It was nice to have a little getaway and it was Miles first night away from home. He didn't do great sleeping in the pac n play and was up almost every hour so i was relieved it was only for one night. But it had just snowed so the mountains were a gorgeous sight!

Dinner at Chart house! Miles was so cute....every time we go to dinner he usually passes out for his "evening nap" and probably to the lull of the noise...well of course this night in a nice restaurant and it was still pretty quiet he decides he wants to "talk" and talk and talk...of course the volume was going up and up and up...we tried to get him to stop by giving him his paci but what can u do and honestly it's soo cute but kind of distracting for those around us...he eventually stopped and passed out just when dinner arrived...it was so sweet.

DJ is still obsessed with playing games.....luckily he is doing a lot better when he doesn't win...even at school they say he doesn't get mad but of course wants to play again until he does win!

D DAY....back to work i go! Luckily it was a Wednesday so it was a short week! I went home for lunch to see Miles and all he would do was look at Damon the ENTIRE time and smile...soo needless to say i didn't feel too guilty being away but i definitely did miss seeing his precious little face and smile all day long. Luckily he is still sleeping great and naps 2-3hrs in the am and pm so i tell myself i'm not missing much! Daddy is doing a great job and it's funny because now on the weekends Damon is so much more in tune on what Miles is doing and the help needed w/ him. We are a great team :) Also i have been able to lose all my Miles baby weight...now i'm working on the last 10lbs to where i was before DJ weight. I gained 50lbs w/ both kids...the first 30 came off fast w/ Miles and then the last 20 i started counting calories on Jan 1st and it really works! Damon lost his weight that way and it is nice because you can still eat and drink the stuff you love just not all in the same day and it is amazing once you put a calorie # on your food just how much i would normally have eaten in ONE day...crazy! So now i just spread that stuff out across the week instead and i don't have to work out which i defintely have no time for. It's so nice to be back in my old clothes!
