Itty Bitty Basketball

We signed DJ up for Itty Bitty Basketball...it's for 4-6yr olds and says it is parent participation but luckily daddy didn't have to do much. The coach is the folsom HS coach and he is soo cute w/ the kids. He uses all the real lingo with them and helps each kid making sure they are doing the right moves. The first night he had them doing like 8 different drills. Luckily it wasn't all dribbling since DJ hasn't really gotten that down yet w/out the ball going all over the place....but he has been practicing...it's so cute! It is once a week for 4wks but the first one was delayed a week and now it is spring break next week so it is going a little longer than planned. This last week the coach had them shooting baskets and DJ made TWO...it was soo cute and he was soo proud. Of course i lost my camera so got ZERO pics or video of it...i realized after the fact i should have used my iphone but oh well. He also had them scrimmaging 1:1 and none of the boys were aggressive to try to get the ball away from the other but it was so fun watching.

We signed him up for Soccer and Baseball also which is just after one another starting in two weeks. I tell ya i have had a glimpse into what our child's sports life and our life will be like...since DJ also does swim once a week still and now this once a week and then if we have plans with friends or family one night a week the week really gets busy fast and figuring out ways to have quick healthy meals is a challenge also..not to mention baths and homework getting done with bedtime by 8. I was debating possibly having another child...although damon probably wouldn't go for it..haa...but now i'm convinced two is plenty as once they are both in sports or extra curricular things in the evenings we will be swamped and it's important to me for us to go to everything and allow them to do these things....i personally couldn't handle a 3rd in the midst..haa. So it will be fun but i can definitely see how our friends lives have turned quickly into their kids lives and they no longer have their evenings and weekends...but i'm soo excited for that. Watching them learn new things, helping them do it too and them being so excited and proud of themselves is worth it all!

We bought a basketball hoop a few years ago from a neighbor....so finally put it to some use! DJ was doing awesome practicing making baskets and even dribbling!

he puts his tongue out every time...he's concentrating so hard..my mom and her dad do/did the SAME thing!
