May Madness

Sooo DJ hit some all new terrible 2's since he got his tubes in...a friend of mine thinks he might have done this last time he got the tubes in but i don't recall....things have seemed to subsided a bit but he is definitely pushing things harder and harder and the "one more time" is no longer just one more time...the threat of time out is no longer a threat and doing things he doesn't want to really do takes 3 times as long as it normally does...ohhh the joys of parenthood!

His latest new things are..saying " Good Job Daddy", "Hot dog so Yummy", "I'm so excited", "Hailey's so nice", "this bat is easier", "Daddy i want to get up" ( he said one morning from his bed)..haaa.....just lots of new phrases and complete sentences...he is great at saying Please/Thank you most of the time and so fun to hear when u don't expect it! He is Singing songs constantly....he was singing a song for the longest time and i had no clue what song it was...finally my mom picked up on it and it was Baa, Baa Black Sheep...so he sings that more clearly now, also sings "No more monkey's jumping on the bed", Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, ABC"s and Take Me out to the Ballgame...it's so fun to hear him out of no where or just sitting and eating start singing :) He loves to do his peg puzzles and real ones. Daddy has taken him to the driving range to get more practice with his new clubs and says he's hitting better than he did with Grandaddy...we also use them and hit fuse balls in the backyard....and still hitting lots of ball off the Tball and he's really hitting the ball far! Both of course are still lefty, but he seems to throw the ball, color, eat more with his right hand but still sometimes his left...we'll see! He is finally eating cereal with milk (just like daddy) out of his straw bowl...so the boys have their ritual every morning now together. Also he has been loving to pay closer attention to reading books and we have like 7 books we read every single night before bed and he knows if we forgot one..haaa! He even "reads" Brown Bear Brown Bear by himself as i turn the pages from memory....and has recently pulled his legs over to sit indian style on the couch, where does that come from?!? :)

I found these baseball slippers at Target for $1!!!! Wouldn't you know they were a huge hit and i went back to get the basketball or football ones and they were GONE..oh well..hopefully nothing happens to these! He loves to wear them around the house and even has to go to bed with them! Then I also got him some "big boy cups" to start trying out...they use little dixie cups at school so he's actually pretty good with them...except of course until he goes to grab something behind it and doesn't even see it and over goes the cup...but it's only for water right now! :) He is obsessed with having ice in it and making sure it is "filled up mommy" :) He couldn't even look up at the camera he was too obsessed with his cups!We went to a friend's 4yr olds bday party and DJ loooved playing with this stomp rocket. They live on 13acres so obviously have lots of room for this thing to fly, but he would actually jump on it and then run to go get it, come back and do it over and over and over! He was pretty tuckered out on the way home...thought it was cute he was actually holding his foot up!

DJ has been especially attached to damon lately. Ocean (our cat) had jumped up on damon on the couch and DJ was jealous...he kept saying for Ocean to get down...well instead he was convinced to get up on Daddy's lap with Ocean :)
We went out for sushi tonight...DJ actually kept the kid chopsticks together tonight and was getting his tofu, green beans and blueberries picked up with them! He usually breaks them apart and just stabs the food instead :)
